"Lovely owner and fantastic food. Really obviously cared about making good quality food to satisfy our taste buds. We both had a lamb shish kebab which was delicious and definitely not stingey with the meat either! Would 100% recommend if you're in the area and fancy a kebab. Only place to go. "We were trying to get into the cafe opposite as it had tables in the sun, and it wasn’t immediately obvious where the entrance to the Almshouse is (10 yards down street). The outside seating doesn’t look as appealing as it’s neighbor but once inside it’s a different story. A really nice menu with an excellent selection of cakes and sandwiches and great coffee, served by friendly staff. The Almshouse itself is really pretty inside, with a bookshop, and spiral staircase taking you to more seating. Next time we’re in Axbridge we’ll be heading straight there!"

"I have been several times to this restaurant and it is fantastic to find an authentic italian restaurant. I have been on my own, with my partner, family and with work colleagues for a business lunch. The atmosphere is wonderful, you feel you could actually be in a restaurant in italy itself. The staff are so friendly and genuinely make you feel welcome. The food is delicious, I came away feeling that I had just eaten a meal that you would have in an italian home, with recipes that have been handed down from generation to generation."

"Can't believe we have been going to the area or months and only just found this Gem. The food was freshly cooked and plenty of it the batter mmmmmm so crisp and light . Portions very generous I think I need a smaller portion as despite my best efforts I couldn't eat it all. Yes its busy waiting outside would be bad in the rain but take a brolly it's worth it Just wish it wasn't a 2bhour drive away from us."
