This is a wonderful spot, with friendly staff that deliver food on time, always with a smile, always great food. It is one of those really traditional takeaways in the heart of the city. Great food, great service, which seems to have been there forever - well at least the last 20 years. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Daily Grind:
This may only be a place that provides sustenance to Brisbane's public servants but it should lift its game. Some of the food is so bad its almost inedible, especially the pre-prepared burger things. As far as coffee goes, do yourself a favour and go across the road. View all feedback.
While the restaurant is on the smaller and more traditional side, if you can look past that, you'll find that it offers great value. The beds and linens are excellent, and there are three pillows of varying thickness for your comfort. The lack of a mini bar is made up for by the presence of basic snacks and coffee. You can order room service 24 hours a day using a tablet. The fish and chips are the best I've ever had, and the breakfast is also delicious. The staff are extremely courteous and helpful, making for an awesome overall experience.
Although the restaurant was established in the 1960s, it remains a charming place to stay. The establishment has been meticulously maintained and has received suitable upgrades over the years. The room and bathroom were delightful, and all of the staff we encountered were friendly and eager to assist. The breakfast options were impressive, with a variety of fresh hot and cold dishes to choose from. It was one of the best breakfast experiences I have had. The lounge bar provides a great spot to grab a quick drink or light meal. I will definitely return to this establishment when I visit Brisbane again.
This restaurant is a fantastic choice for those staying in Brisbane. I selected this location due to its proximity to the botanical gardens and recommend booking a room on a higher level to enjoy views above the tree line. I stayed on the 8th floor and was delighted to wake up to a lovely view. Although the exterior of the building is showing its age, it exudes a charming seventies vibe. Inside, the decor may border on tacky, but somehow manages to pull off an old-world charm with ornate carpets and cabinets displaying interesting knick-knacks. The rooms are spacious and the beds are exceptionally comfortable. While I didn't have a chance to use the pool, it appeared to be quite inviting. With its convenient location and reasonable pricing, I would definitely choose to stay here again.
This is a classic good hotel. No wonder the rating is high. Complimentary drinks at the bar to relax. Room is clean and quiet. Nice amenity and yummy cookies everyday. And rates are very reasonable!!! Next to botanical garden. I’d love to stay here again :
Room was great, and facilities pretty good Stayed at this place for just the night on the weekend and it was pretty good. I have been to several conferences here, breakfasts but never stayed in the rooms. I managed to be upgraded to one of the spa suites which are very spacious, and the separate lounge and bedroom areas were great. The spa is not that big, but adequate if thats what you are looking for. The bed was comfortable, and the blackout curtains were great for a sleep in. The outdoor pool wasn't too bad, and the spa was ok but could have been a bit hotter in temperature. The pool bar service was a downer as they were still there, but not serving which wasn't very good customer service. Parking is available, but there doesn't seem to be a discount for hotel guests as public use this also so this is something the hotel could look at to entice people to come as its a bit steep for tight spaces and potentially outdoor parking depending on how full it is. Overall quite good, and would use again
