What User doesn't like about Reflections Cafe At Attenborough Nature Reserve:
My experience at this restaurant was enjoyable. We ordered a cake and a hot drink, both of which were homemade and delicious. The staff was friendly, although the restaurant was quite cold - I'm not sure if the heating was working. The hot chocolate was especially tasty. We felt cozy and warm inside, as it was a rainy winter day. View all feedback.
This place is excellent, sits really nicely in its surrounding approached via a bridge so you walk out into the lake. The website says no dogs but when I asked they now graciously let you sit out on the balcony! Really not sure what you...can only sit on the balcony, other than congestion perhaps. The waiting staff didn't seem in control and i had to clear out table, but couldn't clean it down properly. They dithered but we finally got served. To be fair the cakes and drinks were decent enough with a good strong flat white.
We'd walked along the River Trent from Long Eaton and were ready for a drink and a sit down. It was a warm day and so we had a change from usual and had a milk shake. It was OK, we were tempted by a...scone looking cake which we were told was a cross of scone and brioche mmmm don't think we'll be having it again.
Nice location for a dog walk. But at least to park. Rubbish scattered everywhere. Bins overflowing. Went to the cafe with the dog and they’re not allowed in. No dogs. How much trade are they loosing through that. Saw the balcony from a distance...and would have been lovely to sit having lunch with the dog. Too warm to leave him in the car. Cafe was half empty. All the tables piled with pots. Unhelpful staff. Reluctant to serve even though there was no queue just for a coffee, and expensive. Won’t bother again and I can see why it was very quiet on a sunny afternoon. Even John Lewis allow dogs nowadays! See empty balcony on picture.
Had a lovely afternoon sitting on the balcony overlooking the water drinking peppermint tea and gluten-free chocolate and orange traybake. Also available an avocado cake which I didn't see in time or the Dimebar choc cakes as options. It was fairly busy but table...clean and staff friendly and helpful. Very enjoyable, and what a fantastic setting.
The venue is beautifully relaxing, perfect after a long walk. We decided to stop at the cafe for a takeaway coffee. The staff were a bit intimidating. Upon entering, we were instructed to fill out the "track and trace" form. As we waited for our coffee, which was served without sugar, sweetener, or stirrers, we had to wait until they were done with the espresso machine before they finally mustered up the courage to ask about our dissatisfaction with the lack of access to the toilets.
