We've been eating here for years and it never disappoints! The fish is fresh, the batter rocks & the fries and onion rings are excellent, too! They also offer homemade tartar sauce now, for a small charge. For something different, try their battered salmon!(Their fish tacos are pretty good, but I prefer the ones at Chronic Taco, in the same mall. ) View all feedback.
What Yvonne Abshire doesn't like about Cockney Kings Fish & Chips:
We fancied some fish and chips but didnt have time to go to our usual place. The service here was quick and the place looked clean. The washroom was in good order. Our food was hot and not too greasy. If you are craving fish and chips you could do worse. View all feedback.
An appointment in the neighbourhood brought me to Cockney Kings. My mouth was watering for some onion rings and sure enough they made and served them. Lunch time appears to be a busy time as there was a line at the door (however most were seated promptly by the wait staff) so I thought I'd make my order to go. The first time I ordered half an order of piping hot onions rings $(3;) the second time a full order $(5) and each time my taste buds were more than satisfied.Have had the fish meals another time. But the jump in price between one and two pieces of fish is discouraging. This may have been the kind of food your English great grandfather would have eaten if only he had wanted one fish with his chips, not two.Love the paper place mat listing and describing all the different Cockney words and phrases.
I work in New West so we order lunch a lot. I absolutely love their fish and chips but their chicken strips are to die for!
The place was always busy and hopping. The staff was very friendly and had fun with us. The fish is crispy and tasty without being soggy. Chips were good and the cole slaw was the best I've had in a long time.
My wife and I ate here for an early dinner on the recommendation of friends and were very pleased with our meals! The fish and chip dinners we ate were tasty, not too greasy and had very nice batter on the fish portions which were generous in size. The order of onion rings that we got was huge and the onions were hand-cut ,fresh, and perfect in flavour! So good that we will go back just for the onion rings alone!Service was good and the prices are average for this type of food.Give them a try and I believe you will be happy, especially with the onion rinds!
We eat Cockney and King's fish and chips regularly and every time, all is great. Cod, Haddock and Halibut are all good, haven't tried but they have shrimp and oysters too. Generous portions of chips and onion rings are chrispy. If taking out, don't choose to put your order in plastic bag and keep the onion rings package open if possible. Always busy, no matter what time of day....says something.
