What User likes about Le Pescaillou:
I recommend! Only the Aude station, perfect for a first time with family. Family atmosphere, many children. The trail is free and the rental of the sled, at 6 euros a day, in Camurac allows to make a real snow out at a small price. Schedule from 9am to 5pm. There are also leads, I didn't test them. "We landed at 5, without a reservation, after 8 p.m. We were well received and installed within a minute, the tables being modular We then had to wait, due to the arrival of additional customers who arrived like us without booking. Cocktails and tapas to share , followed by various dishes that delighted us gourmets and finally frozen desserts that allowed us to taste delicious Russian specialties. Finally, we were treated to a small glass offered by the house (without alcohol). The room was empty when we left, we were able to chat a little with the owners We had an excellent evening."

"Eight of us stayed in this Gite d'etape at a cost of 34 euros for dinner, bed and breakfast. We were completing part of the Sentier Cathare and this was our sixth gite d'etape. The accommodation was very basic, comprising a kitchen and large table...on the ground floor and two sleeping floors above, each with 8 beds. We slept on the second floor. This had four sets of bunk beds. The area was small and two of the bunks were pushed together. We were a mixed party of 4 men and 4 women who are walking friends. We found this far too intimate for us. The first floor had 6 mattresses in a row on a platform, a single bed with a double bed on a platform above it. A party of 8 French men and women stayed there. There were only 2 toilets between us, and three showers all on the first floor. One of the showers had a glass door so that your body was in full view to all. The toilet paper ran out and was not replaced. A trip to the toilet at night was a hazardous affair. The evening meal was tolerable but some of the fish, cooked over a barbeque in the house were only partly cooked and had to be cooked again. Wine was limited but there was a small aperitif. The breakfast was mean, comprising margarine, bread and one teabag only per person. There was a bit of cake and a half glass of orange juice, no refill. There were no other facilities. They claimed not to have a telephone for us to speak to the baggage taxi but were seen later to be using a local mobile. This all represented very poor value for money in comparison with the previous and subsequent gites. We were uncomfortable and very glad to leave. The next Gite d'etape at Roquefixade was only one euro more per person and was incomparably better as were all of the others we stayed in of a similar price. There is another gite d'etape in Montsegur. Fellow walkers reported that it was infinitely superior. Lou Sicret is grossly overpriced for the facilities available."
