Went exploring and this was a real find. Wonderful breakfast. Others also thought so as the place was full.I had the Big Breakfast and it was GOOD! Eggs, sausage, bacon, mushroom and spinach. The beetroot and potato rosti was unusual but nice and crispy. There was a grocery attached but perhaps it being Sunday morning almost everyone was there for the cafe.I would certainly come back! I wonder if some of the baristas here drink or enjoy coffee! Some days are good, some days are terrible. Unfortunately never great. And neither is the serviceOnly upside is there is plenty of indoor seating on those chilly Canberra mornings. And a small grocery section each was handy. View all feedback.
I was staying in a hotel nearby, but hate hotel breakfasts. This was just what I needed, good coffee and a big plate of scrambled eggs. Had the beetroot rosti too, recommended
We found this gem of a place just by walking by.Absolutely delicious breakfast good value for money and excellent coffee
Great place for afternoon tea : chocolate milkshake and cinnamon and banana cake. Handy mini mart and beverage outlet as well
Having a rare late start to work, my husband and I decided to have breakfast at TwentyOne Cafe. The signs were good: the rich aroma of coffee, a reasonable menu and the sun shining on the smattering of diners. My husband ordered the Breakfast Special, a compilation of bacon, fetta, haloumi, poached eggs and mushrooms on toasted bruschetta. While tasty enough the dish was drizzled with a thick balsamic sauce (not revealed on the menu) which was both sickly and unnecessary. I ordered the Eggs Benedict with spinach and ham and requested the muffins be served on the side as I do not like muffins made soggy by poached eggs. However when my dish arrived the eggs were sitting on the muffins. I removed them while my husband asked for another muffin to replace the soggy one. Unfortunately, instead of acceding to my husband's request the cashier taking the order argued with my husband, insisting I had asked that only the ham be served separately. He explained that I ALWAYS order the muffins to be served separately. She eventually relented and supplied me with another muffin, but not before my eggs and ham had cooled. What a storm in a muffin toaster! All that was required would have been a light hearted comment on confused communications. Instead I got a partially toasted replacement muffin slammed onto the table, no acknowledgement of my thanks and a glare to boot!I feel sorry for the other staff who went about their duties with diligence and who may be damaged by this review. All I can say is the coffee was good, the food satisfactory, the environment pleasant, but the staff member taking orders was surly and defensive. With so many other options in Civic, we will not be returning.
This place was recommended to us by friends. Never again. First and last visit. Possibly the worst coffee I've had in my life. Lukewarm, bitter, small and expensive. Wife ordered cake, which was dry and likened to something you buy in bulk at Woolworths. Service from the middle-aged guy was dismissive. Move on or get out of hospitality.
