Overall, a great offering a good at Viva. The plating was on point both for the bisque and my snow crab risotto. However, it's misleading to call this place an Italian restaurant... it's not really Italian in terms of dishes. To give you an idea, there wasn't any pasta option for lunch. Therefore, I can't say it's a 5 stars. All in all though, a good option for a good meal and well presented meal. View all feedback.
What khalil sultanem doesn't like about Viva Sgobba:
Went a saturday evening. Ambiance a food was good but the service extremely slow. Waited 90 minutes for the appetizer and another 60 minutes for the main dish. Obviously they had a problem which happens to the best. But no one came to inform us out of respect. No explanation. Lack of respect to the clientèle View all feedback.
Exquisite service the staff was super polite and so lovely, the venue is amazingly well decorated , it is super cozy and it is so clean. The bathrooms are so fancy every cubicle has its own sink and they are also super clean you totally feel spoiled . AND THE FOOD. OH MY GOSH . Just so much flavour and perfect texture and overall it was a honnestly perfect dinner , we didn't have to wait too long to get these amazing platters of perfection we were satisfied beyond our words all the ingredients were obviously fresh (we are used to eating fresh) . I think it shows that the owner totally cares about the quality of the dinner experience he is getting to us and I think that deserves great respect. I recommend this place like I would recommend the moon: basically a big hard YES .
The management of this restaurant comes from one of the TOP restaurant in Quebec city. You can request special dishes if you call a few days ahead. This restaurant is just perfectly located. Near everything! I 've been there a few times, never been disappointed. A bit pricey but well worth the experience. The service is awesome, staff is great and very accommodating. And again, food is just 'WOW '.
With a bottle of wine, from the menu; two duck risotto and seafood linguine (150$ dinner for two). Both very tasty and suificent portion for price. Patsa was fresh and with good amount of seafood within. Best risotto I`ve tasted in my life. Great ambience.
Simple but absolutely delicious!Feels like sophisticated version of home! ??Service is great and they have a great and diverse meal selection!I ate all my plates... I usually never finish my plates !!
It starts with bread being served with butter, not olive oil. The wine card has only a handfull of italian wines to choose from and even at 60$ a bottle, the pino griggio doesn't even have a cork, in true Quebec fashion it's a twist cap! Accompanying pasta was overcooked and served in a creamy sauce. No italian I know would dare to serve supermarket pasta instead of fresh pasta. Although I mentioned to the server that such pasta are unedible, we were not offered an apology nor a grappa on the house. But for the rest of my party who had not travelled to Europe and could not compare to real italian food, they found it acceptable. Seeing the cars parked outside, it looks like this is a highly regarded restaurant, but to the well travelled visitor, it's over rated.
