"So glad we stopped by in this café in our recent trip to Newfoundland.We ordered coffee, and cinnamon tauton as per our server’s recommendation, and it was the best we ever had! Freshly out of the oven with the warmth still radiating from it, the tauton was crispy on the out and wonderfully light and airy.Food aside, the atmosphere was warm and friendly and the staff were incredibly nice and personable.Overall, I highly recommend Madrock café. Thank you all the staff for creating a memorable experience!"

"We had reservations for 6pm on a Saturday and we were seated upstairs at a window table, all as requested. While the order for beverages arrived quickly, our food was not served until after more than two hours of waiting! No apology or explanation was offered. We both had the baked Newfoundland cod and it was delicious, as was the side of coleslaw. Bottom line, the kitchen and serving staff need to be expanded to handle the suppertime rush. If you do not have two hours to spend waiting for your food, patrons should either arrive at 5pm for an early meal, or make reservations for 8:30 or later."
