Homemade goodness. Quite the selection of drinks including bubble tea. Nice pit stop on the way of touring.

"If you like very bland, tasteless food made without love this si the place for you. EVening adding 1/2 tsp of pepper to the soup did nothing for it. Spouse had the cafe special; the beans were by far the best of what was on...our table, although my own is far better. The server who seated us wiped her bare hand across the table but did not wipe it with any cleaner/disinfectant, despite the many, many crumbs, or COVID protocols; had to ask the person who took ourorder to clean the table Bay Robert's must have better eating establishments than this."

"We stopped here for our evening meal in early September. Because of an early lunch, we came at 5 with no reservation but this wasn’t a problem as they weren’t busy. We were seated immediately and the server came to take our drinks order, also...explaining a little bit about the history of this old, restored building. The building is beautiful, and worth a visit just to see the inside finishes. A comment on the menu; as previous reviews have said, it seems heavy on the pizza and burgers, but there are other items. I ordered the oven baked cod and my husband ordered the lamb burger. The wait was a little long, but we didn’t notice as we were told we could go upstairs to see the rest of the building as they were not busy that early in the evening. We did notice that the restaurant became busier past 6 o’clock. The baked cod was delicious served with roasted potatoes and a coleslaw. My husband said his lamb burger was also good (he loves lamb) and he chose fries as his side. We shared a piece of strawberry-rhubarb cheesecake, this turned out to be a cheesecake with a bit of jam on the top. The taste was ok but nothing special. Service was overall good, with the server returning twice to see if the meal was ok or if we needed anything."

"Love Dark Star! Great coffee and friendly service. Always consistent (which you can’t always say for the bigger chains). Treats are also delicious."
