"We spent a month in Florence and Montalcino was a beautiful two day excursion. While the Brunello properties we visited were outstanding, re di Macchia was the highlight of our visit. The service was outstanding and the menu was so good and varied it was hard to choose each course. Surely it was everything Tuscany can offer. Reluctantly we had to choose and every choice we made was perfectly prepared and delicious. Don’t miss this gem. We wish our trip had been longer offering another opportunity to dine here….next time!!!"

"Our visit to Osteria Acquacheta was one to remember. The owner is a character, his place is unique and authentic and he knows how to prepare the amazing Bistecca Fiorentina. Two things you should keep in mind: make a reservation well in advance and order a steak if you wish to experience what the place has to offer. It's almost like a ritual: the owner himself will advise you on the size of the steak, he will cut your portion in front of your eyes at the back of the osteria, where the open kitchen is located, bring it back to you to approve and then cook it to perfection! The best meat we tasted for years!"

"Early in my planning this was one of my main choices to eat while in the Pienza area and so glad we were able to eat here. Usually it is packed and just by chance we got in on a slow night! Absolutely the best meal on our trip from the food to just the overall homey feel especially the hospitality from the owner! If you are in the Pienza area even for one night make this your go-to choice but make reservations in advance! Everything we had throughout the night you could tell was made fresh! Table wine was our choice and well worth it!"
