With great fresh vegetables and fruit in your food box every week. We love the seasonal changes and variety. A great service.
The Food Garden specialises in preparing food boxes and delivering them in central Victoria. Seasonal vegies and fruit, eggs and dry goods, with the emphasis on organic and biodynamic. Boxes around $35, or pick your own mix.The Food Garden's partner business is a food van, the Conscious Caravan. Clean eating is valued. Offerings are limited in number and ingredients are carefully chosen, with most things vegan-friendly. When I visited there were smoothies, wraps, salads, dips plus bread, and small sweet items. My friends had a vegetarian curry and liked it. If you want to learn to make desserts that are vegan and based on raw ingredients, try the Conscious Caravan's offerings (which are a bit pricey) and then chase up ingredients with the help of the Food Garden people.I visited on a Friday. Days and hours of opening to the public are limited, so it's best to check in advance. In its present form this place cannot cater for the majority of the population, but I give it 4 stars for doing what it does and for aiming high.
