Food is fresh and tasty. Lots of options including lots of vegetarian choices. The veggie burger was exceptional. Perfect patty on a soft bun with lots of toppings. Felt like I was eating a good old fashioned hamburger! Fries were real potatoes and perfectly cooked. View all feedback.

we had what we thought would be a quick lunch before we went on a whale watching cruise. The service was adequate, but they dropped our order on the floor and forgot about it. our quick lunch almost cost us a very expensive whale watching cruise. The food (Fish View all feedback.

With great food and an amazing view of the sunset, what's not to like? Service was fast and friendly and the prices were good. My only disappointment was they'd run out of scallops and Big Spruce on tap. Next time.
Called in really for the local brew which was headlined on a board outside. Stayed to eat
After spending the morning and early afternoon in Chéticamp, our group of 6 was in desperate need of some lunch and 2 members of our group had eaten at this location before and enjoyed their meals. We arrived around 1:30 and it was a busy spot, as was expected on a beautiful day on a long weekend in Cape Breton. However, our group of 6 ordered, sat outside and did not receive meals after over an HOUR of waiting, and no staff checked in on us. As my husband and I decided to go in to ask for a refund so we could continue on our trip to Sydney that evening, our 4 friends received their orders, and our friend who has a gluten allergy did not have her needs met and her dish had to be redone, with no apology offered. The waitress was skeptical of her requirement for gluten-free, and even suggested she did not request her meal to be gluten-free. Our meals were not completed, and I went inside to ask for a refund of our meal as we were behind schedule. At the counter, I was told that we could not have a refund as our food was now ready, which we saw as unacceptable as our friends were now finished their meals and ready to get back on the road. We were given the option to take our food to go, and were not issued an apology. As a couple who have worked in various customer service roles for over a decade each, we were quite upset and will not return to this location based on this outcome alone. Our friend issued a poor review on the Happy Clam's Facebook page and was contacted by the manager, who said that our meal would be refunded as there was a miscommunication about the issue. However, the manager then decided against their offer, and said we could return for a free meal. This just added further salt to the wound because we all live 5 hours away from Chéticamp.
This place is very popular, around lunch time there are lots of people. The menu is on the wall and you order at the counter, get a number and wait for your food at the desk. We stopped there expecting for a quick lunch on our way to Ingonish, but we had to wait for food as in a regular restaurant. Our friends had to wait 20 minutes more than us. Food was just OK. The bowl of the chowder was the size of the cup but for the price of the bowl. It was good but overpriced. Butternut squash soup was good. Fish and chips just overage.
