"Unfortunately the staff have been rude every time I've visited. Whether it is on the phone or in person they are rude and aggressive. Unfortunately they don't have masses of competition which is why people have to put up with it. Over the lockdown period the way they speak to potential customers has been appalling."

"Had a lovely stay at the Nogg in. Having spent the week travelling the south west we stayed at 6 different hotels/B B. The Nogg in was by far the most comfortable with a fantastic size shower equipped with plenty of fresh towels bathrobes. We stayed in room 2 which had a huge bed (not sure on size but bigger than king size). A big bonus was waking up to a coffee machine pods in the room. The room looked freshly decorated and no sign of mould anywhere in the bathroom. Larger TV than usual in hotels too. I would definitely recommend and will be staying there again when visiting family local to Wincanton. A real credit to the owners."

"The pub looked great. The staff were friendly. We both ordered and half way through my starter I was told the fish had a wash of fennel. I had already told them I had an intolerance to fennel. The waitress informed me of this and said there was a minute amount. My steak came up lovely and pink but it had not been rested and there was a large pool of blood on my plate. Not a great main. The pudding was descri bed as "dark chocolate mousse with cherries, pistachios and coffee icecream our waitress informed me it would be milk chocolate. I agreed it would be fine. What arrived looked like a cowpat with cherries and cecream. No pistachios. This was a step too far and it was sent back. The charge for this was taken off. Needless to say what was supposed to be a romantic meal was disappointing. I feel the communication about the fennel should have been dealt with better a rookie error of not resting the meat and a shambles of dessert which cost well over £100 to include a service charge of 12.5%. Cannot recommend this pub at all."
