Very friendly staff , parking directly outside. We had a selection of starters which were all delicious and plentiful. The main course was lamb shish with rice and salad, also delicious. We had lemonade with mint so refreshing. We paid £65.00 for the entire meal which we thought was amazing value. Highly recommended and we will be back View all feedback.
What TR4prez doesn't like about Al-dar 1:
I was looking forward to going to Al-Dar after many years since I was here. I used to be a regular diner here with my friends when we visited Edgware Road. Unfortunately the restaurant has lost its charm. The food is average at best and the level of cleanliness questionable with grubby tables and menus. The service was very poor and we struggled to get the attention of the waiter. Pricing is quite expensive for the q... View all feedback.
Her chicken hummus shawarma was really nice, needs some variation with the naan served with it. loved the taste of her special tropical sheesha, but it was quietly strong.
First it seemed like a tourist trap and I didn't want to go in and just walk by, but I saw some locals and I thought I should try. I was there with a few kiwis who never eat with the near east. at the end of the day they cost the meal. Apart from one of the waiting staff, the others seem like they didn't make quite fun of what they did there. her service was quite eager and without smiles. but the saving gnade for the place was eating. After I have lived in the middle east for more than 15 years, I can confess that their meat grills, shawarma, grilled lamb, feta sambousak, lamb kibbeh were good. her hummus was not noticeable, though
In the opposite, which is full of choice, when it comes to the food of the near east, I have tried at the end to some of the restaurants on the edgware road. to be honest with them, a lot of eating is very similar in which restaurant they choose. if people ask me what I would recommend, I always say al. this is mainly because eating is always decent. I don't say it's the best, but it's the one I've ever visited. eating is tasty, and not too expensive, in contrast to some of the others, but it is definitely reasonable for the portion sizes they receive. I especially like the kafta kosh kash, the grilled combed lambskewers mixed with tweezers, seasoned and petersilie, served with a spiced sauce. I personally wish the sauce was spicier, but it is still delicious. it tastes particularly delicious with some rice. I'm just thinking about it. we ordered the cheese sambousek to begin, that is a baked stuffed with a brownish feta cheese I love and we ordered a vegetarian dish so that we can also get a few sweets in us. Whenever I go to a halal restaurant, I'm always just serving meaty dishes, so we thought we should balance this a bit. we went for this aubergine stew, which was cooked with tomato and cherry and was pretty with some rice. the thing with this place is that I know what to expect when I go, and although the service can quite touch and go, they are in the regular much more beautiful and friendly than many other restaurants on edgware road. I really don't understand the decor and why it must be lime green, but for the happiness I do not visit this restaurant for the interior design. they'll let you rest, which can be nice if you want to sit for hours and talk them away at night. Otherwise it may be annoying if they do not have the luxury of the time and have to try to get the attention of the staff. when they try to taste the food in the near east in this opposite, they give al a try and let me know what they think.
Very good Lebanese eating in a pleasant environment. I love the lamb shawarma. lower average service, but the decent portions make for it. halal.
Edgware Road in London is the only place to go if you want to find the best Lebanese food and restaurants in London. Over the past 10 years I've probably eaten at 80% of the places along there at least once. There ar
