Nice to see the George restaurant punching again. The refurb is tastefully done with a good mix of old and new. Prime location in the High Street, a lovely old, beamed building with comfortable arrangements. Plenty of space, colourful additions and a welcoming staff. Four of us dined here on a cold Saturday evening. Two of us shared 4 Tempura Prawns to start, which sadly arrived along with our main courses after an hour’s wait! To follow two of us chose Roasted Lamb Rump which was nice, though sadly the sweetbreads were tough as they weren’t prepared/cooked correctly.
