A chippy of old, sailing in a sea of sunken wannabe chippies and the recent emergence and scourge of the seas the 'Nouveau Fish and Frites ' pretenders (luckily only found the Northern burbs and Cottelsoe). Albeit owned by Chinese, who understand that it’s important to have white faces on the counter in non-Asian establishments. I know not very PC, but it’s true. Anyway quality of fish is always fresh (non-fishy) eit... View all feedback.
What Serenity Hane doesn't like about Johnny's Quality Fish Bar:
Asked what the fish was in the seafood platter, replied snapper. Having owned a fish and chip shop, was disappointed to find to was, wait for it, basa, pangasius borcourti View all feedback.
Customer service whoops, couldn't believe my ears. I have purchased here before and the flavours are great but when I get my meal home (2) mins away the batter just falls off the fish, I met a guy who owns around six very successful fish and chip shops and he suggested I ask the people here to cut the piece of fish in half and cook it a little longer and this would help keep the batter on. To my surprise my request was met with a rude reply WE DONT DO THAT HERE... Don't do what, try and provide what the customer wants Don't be polite , don't try and provide customer enjoyment, Don't wear a hair net male service assistant) who flicks his hair and the contents consistently all over...read more
Quality??? Where??? I rang and asked if they have Shark, next I asked is it thick? Yes very thick was the reply! So I ordered 3 shark 4 prawns, 3 crab sticks minimum chips, $46.85 I don't mind paying for so called quality but what we got was ****, the shark was 4mm thick, the 3 pieces combined were as thick as 1 piece from Francisco fish and chips plus the shark was dry, not quality AT ALL, the prawns still had their **** shoots in them, once again not quality AT ALL. The chips were ok but no salt or vinegar, if your going to ask the customer if they want it then put it on when they say yes Very disappointed and will not be back here and I suggest changing the name so it reads right...read more
After reading all the great reviews, decided to try Johnny's fish and chips. Nice clean and quirky shop. Polite staff, with eftpos available. The single serve of fish and chips was great value at $11. The fish was nice and firm with a lovely light batter, chips were perfect and not too oily. Will be back
Yummy fish and chips. Grilled or fried pineapple fritters galore! Chips are good! Crispy and salty ..
Have been getting fish and chips there since 1997, consistently great food. Other favorites are squid rings, pineapple fritters and crab sticks. Fresh fish, not soggy (therefore not frozen), chips crunchy on outside, fluffy inside. Always had pleasant service. $11 for one serve of fish and chips, price been the same for many years. Always busy there, better to call first.
