This restaurant is a hidden gem. It is a family-owned pub that offers a very warm welcome from all, including the locals. The food was exceptional, and they even accommodated my request to cut my chips into smaller pieces. I couldn't find a single flaw in this place and would highly recommend it to families, passersby, and couples. View all feedback.

We had a delicious dinner at this friendly family run restaurant. Menu was varied and everything was home cooked. Very good value for money. We will definitely be visiting again.
Went for Sunday lunch on recommendation of a friend and wasn’t disappointed. Our group all had the beef, tender and plentiful, accompanied by mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, carrot and swede, and home made Yorkshire pudding. Gravy individually served in a gravy boat each the first time in ages I’ve not had to ask for more gravy . The large plates meant the food was presented perfectly and not on top of each other. Apple crumble and ice cream followed for dessert. The owners were present, attentive and very pleasant. If you want a great Sunday lunch that has a proper home cooked taste to it in pleasant surroundings and nice staff, this is a place to come to
This was our first time having Sunday lunch at this restaurant. Although we are not from the area, we visit often and will definitely be returning. I was pleased that I skipped a starter because the main course was very generous in portion size. We had a choice of beef, lamb, or a combination of both, all of which were cooked perfectly. The vegetables were also delicious. We appreciated that each of us had our own individual pot of gravy, which was a thoughtful touch. There were four of us dining, with varying preferences for gravy. Despite the cold November weather, the restaurant was warm and inviting. The tables were well-spaced, unlike many other places we have visited where it feels cramped. The owners were friendly and attentive, a refreshing change from some other establishments. We highly recommend supporting this restaurant, as they truly deserve it.
Lovely place, family run, great food and service. Even took us back to our campsite to save us a taxi.
