The warmest of welcomes from the very moment we arrived. A wonderful afternoon followed, with a delicious tea for 10 members of my family....celebrating my Mums birthday. Fresh, tasty , clearly homemade....quiches, sandwiches,sausage rolls and beautiful cakes. The staff went above and beyond for us all and we felt very special. What Jane H doesn't like about Olde Penny's Tea Room:
My friend and I called in for coffee/tea and we both had a toasted tea cake. The tea cake was fine with plenty of butter. However, the cafetière of coffee was weak with little coffee flavour. The pot of decaf tea had a very strange taste and was a grey colour. We both paid £7 and felt this was rather steep for something very average and wished we had said something at the time. You can also enjoy gluten-free meals at the restaurant, in addition there is a wide choice of vegan menus in the menu. The vegetarian possibilities in the menu complete the offering of the locale.
