"Absolutely awful food and extortionately priced to boot. Not at all welcoming, we were ignored. Very limited menu, mainly consisting of what seemed to be microwaved and fried food. Sauce bottles haven't been cleaned in a very long time elderly looking sauce was congealed under the bottle top, so I dread to think what the kitchen is like. Our disabled son was told by the waitress to get his own drink from the fridge. Toilets are disgusting. We won't be back."

"Travelling through, we chanced on this place and are very happy we did. The staff were friendly, chatty and helpful. The sandwiches we ordered very tasty. The sourdough bread so nice, we then bought a loaf to take home with us. Recommended"

"This is a lovely old country pub full of character and friendly people but I 'm afraid I can 't say the same about the food. We had a roast dinner there last Summer which was probably the worst roast we have had and said we wouldn 't eat there again. But we were invited by friends to join them for dinner and we didn 't want to say no. But I wish we had as it was very poor yet again. We both had the steak and ale pie. The meat was dry, no gravy in the pie, doubt if had any ale in it . . . and potatoes??? A jug of 'gravy ' was served with it which just tasted like cheap gravy granules added to water and a few token frozen chips . . . rubbish!!!"

"Called here as an alternative to services on M5. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, with books to read and nice airy window seat. Coffee was excellent, new world and fair trade from people who clearly care about what they serve"

"Not a posh restaurant serving beer on the side but a brilliant homely pub with a great landlord serving good beer and a home cooked Sunday lunch at a sensible price. Easy parking at the rear of the pub. Advisable to book as this is well used by the locals. Service: 5 Location: 4"
