"We had just finished the wild horse tour, and wanted to dine out, and I saw this place on line , and it was close by . So we tried it. I had the pork chop, with carrots, sweet potatoes, and apples. The chop was almost two inches thick, and I was afraid it wouldn't be cooked throughout. But I've got to say it was magnificent. Tender, juicy, and done just right. We were all very satisfied with our choices."

"First time to the outer banks of NC and it was my good fortune to dine at La Dolce Vita on a Friday night. We arrived without a reservation at about 6 pm and were told either a wait for a table or at the bar. We chose the bar. Well how many bars have a beautiful marble countertop? We started off with a marinated mozzarella ball dish with heirloom tomatoes..so fricking good! We then ordered pizza and hands down the best pizza in NC! Go to this restaurant and you won't be disappointed or go home hungry! Great wine selection and fresh local beers too."

"Our experience at Kimball 's Kitchen was terrible. Not only will I never be going back, it 's the only restaurant where I 'm making sure other people I know don 't make the mistake of going either. I didn 't even want to give Kimball 's Kitchen the time in my head of writing this review, but was told I should. So here it is: We were at the OBX for Labor Day and I wanted to do something special for my girlfriend. Picking Kimball 's Kitchen was a massive misfire on my part. The view is nice, but not even remotely worth the wildly overpriced menu. We started with the Tuna tartare and didn 't finish it. No spices and the tuna itself tasted off/bad. Thankfully they did bring bread to the table. Now I knew going in it was going to be expensive, but there are certain expectations that I think are justifiable if you 're serving pretty expensive food. My girlfriend had the $52 Halibut and it was edible, unlike the Salmon entree I ordered. A $52 plate from a 4 Diamond restaurant should be at least very good not just passable. The salmon I got was raw and after getting our entrees we didn 't see our server or wait staff for another 15 minutes. By the time someone came over and I let them know about the dish we were just ready to leave. The sides for our meal were also underwhelming. A few Brussel sprouts that would 've been 100 times if just cooked in an air fryer and a spoonful of underwhelming mashed sweet potatoes which I 'm not sure how you can mess up sweet potatoes, but they did. Ultimately we got 20% off our meal but still paid $140 to leave hungry and frustrated. It 's just really disappointing to see a place that clearly has been good in the past (unless the diamond ratings are a complete scam) under terrible management, serving bad food. I 'd recommend skipping it and picking really any other place in the OBX to eat."
