A quiet local pub. We called in for a pint whilst out exploring thel local area. Dogs are welcome and our two were very welcomed in. Very clean, with friendly staff. We had a pint of Wainwright and half a neck oil. Both were really good. Recommended if you're passing by . We did not get food or stay in rooms so cannot comment on those . Hotel highlights: Quiet read more.

The rooms in the restaurant are wheelchair accessible and can also be used with a wheelchair or physiological disabilities, Depending on the weather conditions, you can also sit outside and be served.

"The best places always take a little finding well worth it though. Slow cooked brisket with home cooked chips and slaw. The rub they used packed more flavour than you can find for that price anywhere I can think of.. Honest, Tasty and Great value can't be wrong... be back soon with the rest of our posse"

"We have eaten fish and chips from cornwall, Whitby, wales to Scotland, even rick stein in cornwall but I have to say this is by far, the best chip shop restaurant in the country, send rick stein to crook to learn how to cook fish snd chips !! Wow, we have had take away here which is always excellent, but, today we ate in the restaurant and it was absolutely outstanding, the service was warm, friendly yet very professional, the restaurant was cosy and very clean, but, and this is the jewel, the food was outstanding. I had cod, my wife haddock and my son scampi, we ate every bit even though we were full from the generous portions it was so delicious we could not waste a bite, super service throughout and fishy Fridays will now be here, also great to have a sit down fish and chips with a glass of delicious house wine too, and very reasonably priced too (paid for by our son who’s in the navy and wanted scampi before going back out to sea). Thank you for a wonderful meal and we highly recommend and will definitely continue to be regular customers."

"Wonderful day trip from York! We rented 3 bikes: 2 mountain bikes 1 e-bike for the non-cyclist among us (me). The Swale Trail was lovely and a very pleasant ride along the river and past green pastures. On the way back, we decided to stick to the road, as it was smoother and had barely any traffic, plus it gave us a different vantage point. It was a bit of an effort to get to the top of the hill, but then it was smooth sailing all the way back down into town. The best thing about the rental experience, though, was the proprietor. He's the type of person you can instantly sense is a caring and decent human being. He was pleasant, helpful, and graciously accommodating of us making last-minute changes. Truly a pleasure!"
