I wouldn't normal write a BIG rant but it is only out of disappointment that I feel sharing our experience could help others before booking a wine tour.
Just got back from a cruise to Alaska Myself and two young kids (8 and 10) got a 2hr tour of Victoria by a wonderful driver called Dave.

"My Wife is a Chef and we have so much trouble finding great places to go. We will go to the extreme lengths to find great restaurants in B.C. and the pacific northwest. This place is Fantastic, one of the best restaurants we have been to ever. All 4 of us tasted each of our appetizers and Mains. We all agreed that every item was sublime. It was just as good as Le crocodile and Hawksworth and there meal portions are wayyyy bigger that both of them. I was surprised by how good it was and that hasn't happened at a restaurant for years. The Menu has not changed in 50 years and Chef Owner Pierre cooks every meal served. The wine menu is world-class and worthy of a sommeliers dream cellar. The property that the restaurant is on is a multi-million dollar Ocean front paradise worthy of the Rich and Famous. The only draw back is Pierre is getting a little older and when he retires it won't be the same. So make a reservation months in advance and enjoy a heaven on earth dinning experience. You won't be Sorry. Troy"

"Nice place on the main drag in Cowichan Bay. It's a nice little detour between Duncan and Victoria. Parking might be a little dicey on a busy day but we had no problem. The place had only one occupied table. The menu is largely made up of a variety of crepes with different fillings. This is not a vegan restaurant. There was, as I recall, one vegetarian crepe which is what I chose. It was stuffed with zucchini and eggplant and a good helping of goat cheese. It was very tasty but it was very rich. I decided to only eat half and bring the rest for later. The other crepe selections were basically variations of beef, pork, chicken and, of course, seafood. My partner went with the chicken and enjoyed it. The restaurant has a comfortable but a bit plain, rustic feel. The nice part is that it's on the water and has a nice view. Service was efficient. This is a spot that relies heavily on tourists and local traffic. I personally won't go back but that's because of my vegan/vegetarian preference. As a satisfying spot for everyday diners I think it's worth a look."

"I had come in for lunch this past Saturday while I waited for a vendor to return to their booth over at the farmer's market. I was greeted promptly and was told I could have a seat wherever I liked. My server came over dropped off menus and took my drink order. I wanted to try the special that day and it was a grilled cheese burger. My server took my order and in about ten minutes I had my burger, fries, and gravy. However after the server left the table I noticed my burger didn't look right. I had my fries and gravy while I waited for the server to come back to do the standard quality check. I had explained I ordered the special but got a grilled chicken burger instead.To be completely fair I could see how someone could miss hear something like that and my server admitted his mistake and offered to have the order remade for me. I politely declined because I didn't want to wait again and I hate seeing food be wasted. I ate the grilled chicken burger and it was fantastic, perfectly done and not dried out to a piece of jerky.After I was finished, my server came around and apologized again and asked how my meal was and I said it was excellent. Then he came back with my bill, before I could say anything he took 50% off the bill without me asking. To me THAT is what good customer service is about. Would I return again for another meal? You bet!"

"This place used to be a 5 star, but its different now. Been 2 times in the last while. Server came over chewing food, and had to ask my order 5 times because he wasn 't listening properly. Food came out and there was a clump of uncooked noodles in the middle of my soup. No refund because no boss, no refund .I 'm very sad because this place used to be my favorite to go with my group of friends, but we will no longer be going. I still remember the youuur welcome server from a while ago, James I believe. Hopefully this restaurant will one day be good again."

What hospitality, what smiles, and of course the most AMAZING Montreal smoked meat I ever tasted and being from Ottawa , Ontario we have tried some incredible Montreal smoked meat in our day, this is by far the best I have ever experienced .
