"Given his is a hotel, it does feel special. It was a shame that we appeared to have two relatively junior staff attend to us and we were left waiting for quite a while to get drinks and order food. Once sat at our table we were served by great staff and the food was excellent. We have starters and mains only as the puddings added £8 and did not appear such good value. Portions were quite small but enough to satiate our appetites. Had I been a big eater I'm not sure id have said the same. Would happily eat there again."

"Best fish and chips I've ever had! Yes there is a queue and you have to wait but what do you want them to do? Leave it all going soggy in the warmer? I'd rather wait for 10 minutes and have the quality of food that this place makes! "Various members of the family have now visited several times and everything has always been perfect. Great portions, always fresh …and avocado eggs perfectly done (lovely sourdough bread), must come back to try the cakes …. Nice coffees too. Dog friendly outside tables too."

"What an excellent and friendly place we arrived in north waltham unplaned, but needed breakfast did not find anywhere that we had the look of and were just giving up to go back to the car, but spied some chairs out so went. so glad that we did to some people, it doesn’t like much from outside, but there is a lot of choice on the menu and all freshly cooked we were thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast that he was cooked to perfection and the young man brought to was super polite and efficient. toilets were clean and well maintained and all the staff were very friendly. please drop them in here and give it a try to cook just well from the look of him and only what we needed could easily miss the path that we might go on a board or two if allowed a good idea. I would also add that it was excellent."
