"Due to covid restrictions the restaurant is only supplying pre prepared takeaway meals, but what a treat. Simple re heat instructions left us with a superb meal for two, of five star quality, for less than thirty pounds. I have no idea how they do it.If you're considering a takeaway, give it a try, you're in for a real treat. Many thanks to staff at On the Hill."

"We were down from Scotland for my neice wedding and original booked Sabadtians. My brother and family joined us. I had the fantastic evening meal on Friday. It was using local fresh produce and a limited choice, which took me out of my comfort zone, but it was well worth it! The breakfast was stunning! Thanks Richard"

"I was recommended by a friend when looking for someone to make a 70th Birthday cake for my sister. I have never eaten in this coffee shop, but when I went in and saw the cakes, I knew it looked very promising. The owners were lovely when I explained what I wanted, and I have to say the finished cake (chocolate) was exactly what I'd asked for. The cake itself was delicious, very moist and everyone particularly liked the fact that the filling was a ganache and raspberry jam as opposed to just buttercream. As a bonus the cake also freezes well! Handy for any leftovers. This shop will now be my first port of call for coffee and cake, although the lunch time menu looked also very tempting. Lovely atmosphere and extremely pleasant owners."

"Delightful setting so close to the River Dee. Clean with a calm atmosphere. The food was delicious, We went for breakfast, had full English which was hot and tasty so good that we went back in the evening. I had gammon steak which was huge, delicious and well cooked. My husband had tagliatelle which was plentiful and delicious. The blackcurrant cheesecake finished the meal off wonderfully, husband had carrot cake which was gorgeous with ice cream. Lovely coffee, very attentive staff, polite and friendly- definitely recommend this bistro"

"5 star! Heck yes! I’ve never seen anywhere like it being served clotted cream and jam all full to the brim in their containers and they do believe that scones are warm. Service; a tip is to make your reservation for an indoor table. Otherwise , if like us u drove all the way from Chester wanting to sample menu, we were not easily put off when the server said there was no table available. The weather was on our side and noticing outdoor seating we said we were happy to be sat there as all we wanted was tea and scones and the works that come with it. This year, out of all we had , this cafe has the best."
