What curlywurly123 doesn't like about The Royal Oak:
Visited for Sunday lunch after having the place recommended by a friend. Arrived at 5pm I think they had been busy were clearing late lunch diners out. There was 4 of us we ordered lasagne, which was lovely. A steak pie which was nice with a wonderful puff pastry top But the Sunday roast beef was nothing special. Big plate with a slice of beef in the middle, 1 Yorkshire pudding, 2 tiny roast pots, 1 small roast parsn... View all feedback.
They get a cordial greeting from the employees, shown on a table that was comfortable and spacious. family came and drinks were ordered while we read the menu, reorder at the table taken all very nice and efficient. when the food arrived, I was amazed how much we had eaten on our tellers, in spite of being a little over welmed that was nice. hot, well presented and very tasty. we will go back in any case
Visited with our two girls (2.5 years and 9 months) to lunch in the week. we used the tapas menu for our starters, we had the Mac'n'cheese bits with buffalo dip and the bubby. both excellent, really enjoyed the buffalo dip. we then had the bbq chicken melt and the bark-stiltone cake. the girls had pieces of our plates that are good, as the portions are very generous. amazing cake, amazing chips! the wait staff very friendly and interacted with our girls who was beautiful and I think made the experience more pleasant for them.

The lambs liver was awful. I think it was beef liver or a very old ram. It was so tough the knife wouldn't go through it. It was sent back and we didn't pay for it but it spoiled a normally lovely lunch. Another diner sent theirs back too . We won't be back .
It's like walking into a dog kennel. Wanted to eat but turned straight round and walked out. If you can put up with the barking and wet dog stench, I'm sure you'll enjoy your meal but not for us anymore.
