read moreThe Royal Oak has been a longtime favorite, but recent visits have left diners disappointed. Although the ambiance is charming and the staff welcoming, the quality, quantity, and value of the meals seem to have declined. Some dishes, like the Beef and Stilton Pie, have changed for the worse, while others, like the Sunday Roast, lack in portions and flavor for the price. Despite some letdowns, the pub still has its supporters who rave about the friendly staff and lovely meals. Overall, the Royal Oak remains a hit or miss for diners looking for a satisfying meal experience.
