"Amazing food, every dish was full of flavour. Menu had a good variety for food and drinks, cocktails were top notch. Can’t decide which one was my favourite as they were all great. Staff were lovely and very attentive. Would definitely go back and would highly recommend to anyone."

"Warning: Cash only! There isn't a cash machine handy nearby either, otherwise, this place is brilliant. It's exactly how I like my pubs, no pretence. Just great food (once you decipher the extensive menu) with generous portions at good prices. A large selection of whiskey and cider. There was a selection of beers on tap and what I had was well kept and tasty and, as far as I know, they brew their beers on site. The staff were friendly and welcoming, as were the patrons.I will be coming again."

"I went here with a good frind of mine, we had a lovely vegetarian lunch of cheese sandwiches and sat out in the grounds. It was very busy but you could see why as the food was great. The staff were really helpful and the...place was nice and clean."

"We both had the large haddock and chips, with one peas, one curry sauce and we had high hopes based on the good reviews we had read. The chips were fine but the 'large ' haddock at over £5 each were definitely average size by modern portions and sadly were both overcooked which made them chewy. Peas were nice not too salty or sweet, and the curry sauce watery but a pleasant flavour. No dandelion and burdock Pop available.. a no no for a northern chippy."

"I rang to book a table for dinner, as I couldn't find another way to get in touch, was told that this restaurant is cash only (definitely worth knowing). I looked at other reviews too realised they don't have a drinks licence either, but you can take your own (we bought some from the Co-op just up the road). Our visit started badly as, upon arrival, we were ignored by the waitress who appeared engrossed in filling out some type of form, but once seated things improved. I found the menu was just large enough , as a vegetarian, I thought it great that you could have any dish with tofu or veg. Our food arrived quickly it was just the best quality, but I had to ask for serviettes... I'd definitely eat here again when next in the area Vegetarian options: You could have any dish with tofu or veg.
