"My husband I had a lovely coffee cake at Reading lasses today, the sevice was excellent, very friendly. Even though we went in mid afternoon the cakes were lovely fresh unlike many other establishments we’ve visited. Our little dog was also welcomed which made things very pleasant. Will definitely be recommending this lovely coffee shop to friends family when they visit Wigton."

"Stumbled across the Pheasant whilst out visiting the lighthouse at the Isle of Whithorn and so glad we did. We all ended up having 3 courses and each one of us enjoyed each meal. Had a gluten free member in the party they catered for. If you like Italian food then it's well worth a visit."

"What a brilliant little family café in a beautiful part of the world. we went to the breakfast after staying in their sister hotel and it was the first price. very friendly staff welcome. the coffee was excellent, the best I had for years. breakfast was great, well dimensioned portion (even after I excluded a few items) and the best part, some good gluten-free options, something I did not expect, so was very happy! the quality of eating was brilliant and the price, a bargain, breakfast for two with coffee and juice, £10! I go back to a heartbeat!"

"Visited the Steam Packet 9/3/24, we are regular visitors. We were eager to try the new menu…. It did not disappoint, we enjoyed starters of breaded mushrooms and scallops…delicious! Main…. we both made the most of the delicious specials, curried monkfish and lentil dhal for me and the chicken burger for the man. The monkfish was perfectly spiced, cooked to perfection and the lentil dhal made the perfect accompaniment. The chicken burger was a full chicken breast, served with proper chips and plenty of them. Service was great, efficient and friendly. Can’t fault anything!"

"We visited this little cafe twice. The first time we got some delicious takeaway coffee and the second time we dropped in for some ice cream just as they were closing. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, even if the doors were about to close! We sat outside in the little secluded garden to the rear of the bookshop which is also worth a visit."

"Hasn't been here for ever, but very glad we called today. the fish and chips were excellent, beautiful light, crispy teig, correct chips and beautiful fresh salad. he himself had chocolate wingcakes and he said it was gooey and impractical, I had applecakes with strokes of custard, yummy. in the evening there is more choice. friendly staff, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, we can recommend a visit"
