On a wild fall day with the wind whipping briskly through the lovely streets of Victoria BC we came upon a cozy pub with the strains of lilting music

They have a great patio on Government that allows you to people watch and be a part of the hustle and bustle.

"This place used to be a 5 star, but its different now. Been 2 times in the last while. Server came over chewing food, and had to ask my order 5 times because he wasn 't listening properly. Food came out and there was a clump of uncooked noodles in the middle of my soup. No refund because no boss, no refund .I 'm very sad because this place used to be my favorite to go with my group of friends, but we will no longer be going. I still remember the youuur welcome server from a while ago, James I believe. Hopefully this restaurant will one day be good again."

"What an underdog story! We headed into Duncan for breakfast and planned to hit up whitespot but it was closed and opted to take the chance on The Old Fork. We were very skeptical but we’re blown away by the quality of the food. Service was very friendly and fast given there only being one server running the front of the house. Restaurant was clean and had a very relaxed atmosphere. We had four orders of the buttermilk pancakes are we weren’t disappointed. Haven’t tried the rest of the menu but what we did have was hot, fresh and quick… what else can you ask for in a breakfast! Definitely worth checking out if you’re in Duncan or travelling through."

"Wonderful place, excellent food and absolutely fantastic staff. These days there are many places that have had to lower food quality and/or portions to deal with inflation, but not here. The food is as delicious as ever and is comparable in price to other places. I used to go to another specialty pizza place but they've reduced their sizes and topping portions, whereas the Alderlea have kept their high quality ingredients and same portions. The burger is always delicious and it's really hard to say no to the dessert. We've been enjoying the covered porch with our toddler he's happy playing on the gourd with his cars, and enjoys visiting with the chickens next door or seeing the cows in the lower paddock! We really appreciate The Alderlea!"
