The Craftsman restaurant offers a wonderful atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to visit in the northern forests. The food and drink selection is excellent. Although I am not typically a beer drinker, I decided to try something new and sampled a flight of beers. My favorite was the Blueberry Train. The bathrooms are also very well-maintained. What Ben doesn't like about The Craftsman American Tavern:
Horrible. First off trying to eat when theres a bunch of people playing shuffle board a foot away from where you're eating is not my idea of a great dinner. Secondly the food is not worth your money. I had the craftsman burger and added tater tots (which was a $2.50 charge) wow! Over $20 for the most mediocre burger. Sounded amazing on the menu. As most of it does. I dont even want to hear its inflation or whatever t... View all feedback.
With a co-worker stopped for lunch and was immediately impressed by their offer on craft beer from wi. sitting on the bar also noticed what a lot of gin, wodka and bourbon they have. I had the 1848 burger. it was very good and came with chips and salsa in contrast to the typical frits. next time I go through eagle river, I'm back!
Great ambiente and delicious food and drinks. high in the north forest of wisconsin. the logging camp breakfast burger is awesome! definitely the place to go for good eating. many gluten-free options! local organic coffee is smooth and the turtle cheesecake was good from the charts. in any case we come here any time we are even near eagle river. the staff was super helpful, friendly and often viewed with us. Five stars!
We arrived right before it has to do! and young, this place is popular! but I can see why. great eating, beering and friendly staff. we really enjoyed the atmosphere and look forward to the return!
We tried out the Craftsman in lieu of our normal dinner spots. Needless to say, this will definitely be added to the rotation. The atmosphere inside is unlike others in the area. Ever detail of the restaurant ties back to the overall theme.(Including the street number outside) The menu has something for everyone both in the food and drink department.
We found this place early in our week’s stay and liked it so much we went back two more times. Great craft tap beers, specialty drinks and food. Even though they were short staffed, service was friendly and as quick as they could. It was decorated very nicely and even the bathroom (women’s) was beautiful. The first day, we each had a taster flight of beers to find out which we liked the best. I also tried two of the hot specialty winter drinks – yummy! During our three stops, we also tried the buffalo blue cheese tots, cheese curds, tipsy pig sandwich and onion rings – all very good.
