One minor but important issue would be the fact that we thought we had booked it over the phone but having received no confirmation we called back and it transpired no booking had been made. I took a friend to lunch at Norton House after having had so many lovely meals there over the past 10 years. What a let down it was, with a very reduced, uninspired but pricey menu, poor service, uncleared tables everywhere and a total lack of atmosphere.
