Big fan of their home style American foodPrices are higher than expected given the simplicity of the dishes, but food is fresh and flavorful.
I would probably give it a 2.5, but Spotted Cow on tap upped it to a 3The first impression was a wave of smoke that permeated the room.

"This isn?t the best sandwich in Elkhart Lake, it?s the best sandwich I?ve had outside of Chicago. Very friendly, no bs, and everyone seems to be having a good time. The tortilla soup was awesome, the tuna melt was excellent, and they even let you orderthe kids hot dog with goldfish if you insist. Can you please stop being a weirdo and come get this food?"

"We use to go here very often but have slowly stopped going for this reason below. My girlfriend and I stopped for breakfast. We have been typically sharing meals since most places serve so much. Now I mind you, we have shared meals at this restaurant before this is important. We had a Denver Skillet and we were just going to share from the bowl. The waitress brought us our food and gave us an extra plate which was kind but we didn't ask for one. She also wasn't the most friendliest, didn't ask if we needed anything else after dropping off the food. Seemed like she was miserable being there. We finish our food and get the bill. To our surprise we see an extra charge of a $1.00 for a plate??? When we went up to the counter, we questioned this charge. The man told us it is a charge for the extra plate, that we didn't even ask for in the beginning and it is for the dishwasher since they have to wash an extra plate. We have shared meals here before and got an extra plate and never got charged extra. That's a bit ridiculous!! How can you charge something like that even though we didn't ask for it in the first place. Highly considering not visiting this restaurant again but on the plus side the food was delicious.
