We arrived at this place because it has been recommended by a friend, and we didn´t regret it. In a rainy day we were seated fastly, and decided to go for the octopus and pork meat (secreto), that were on the menu for the day. The rations were generous, and the food deliciosly cooked, specially the pork. Additionaly the service was quick and attentive. For dessert we went for the traditional sericaia. A very good det... What Alison W doesn't like about Tasquinha Alentejana:
We stopped here for lunch. The waitress was very friendly and welcoming but the food was poor. The restaurant was very quiet but when our food arrived it was cold, the serving plate the food was presented on was cold, as was the dinner plate. The Migas with coriander was gritty...the coriander had obviously not been washed, so as well as cold it was inedible. View all feedback.
Service has improved since the last time I was there but the quality of the food has not. Entrecosto was mostly bones and fat.
This place has an outside terrace where dogs are definitely not welcome. We were sent off in an unfriendly matter.
Group of 6 people, with table reserved in advance. After being more than 90 minutes waiting for the service, and after several complaints, all the dishes came badly cooked and cold. Potatoes reheated, forgetting the accompaniments, poor presentation. Positive the desserts. Bad maid education, extremely aggressive, and without a word of apology. A bad advertisement for Alentejo cuisine. To avoid.
The ambiance is nice and the food is good but we’ve been for more than one hour for the food. Well, but it was (kind of worth it. One doubt we got was wether the food was really good or it seemed so good because we were starving when it finally arrived. Maybe it’s a marketing technique after all... ;
