"We didn’t have a booking but the restaurant fitted us in which we really appreciated. We were not disappointed the food was exceptional and so was the service. The menu is small, but perfect. We all ordered a different main course and none of us were disappointed. I have a starter again, beautiful and the rest of the party a dessert again fantastic. The complimentary soup was a nice touch too. It was the first evening of our stay and it could not have been any better. A really great restaurant. Thank you."

"Crannog 100% excellent food outstanding, service second to none, restaurant set up, views and ambiance perfect. You will need to book ahead for this very popular eatery. Although very busy, you will experience personal and attentive care from the waiting staff, a vibrant though quiet restaurant and melt in your mouth food. The menu has a wide selection with everything cooked with fresh and local ingredients and to a very, very high standard. I am sorry that I did not take any photos of our meal but do go this easily missed excellent seafood restaurant. Shout out to Angie and Naomi who went above and beyond to ensure we had a special time (I think this is their priority for all diners!"

"My wife and I dropped in to the Crofter on a Saturday afternoon and were treated to a very nice meal. We were seated quickly and after ordering, quickly received our food. My fish and chips were delicious. The fish was equal to the best I've had in Scotland, perfectly cooked, perfectly crisp, without any greasiness. The chips were a solid B+, just missing perfection. I had a local beer which rounded out out the meal nicely. My wife had the onion and tomato toastie, which she liked. We topped off the meal with the sticky toffee pudding, which we decadently ordered with ice cream, whipped cream, and custard. It was delicious and very rich (and filling). The Crofter is part pub, part restaurant and was a pleasant place to have a late lunch. We waited a few minutes at the end of the meal for our check, but in general service was both friendly and efficient. If you are staying in, or passing through Fort William, I'd recommend checking out the Crofter if you are looking for a wee drink or hearty meal."
