Ol South Pancake House - Fort Worth

Everything lacked seasoning simply salt and pepper would have been good it wasn’t there. The gravy was the best part of the meal. No utensils or condiments were given. It looked good but highly disappointed. Precooked chicken probably would have been better freshFood: 2/5

Went there with several friends late in the evening. I was happy to finally get in. In the past when I have tried to go here, the restaurant was packed. Anyway, we had a good time sitting and talking for quite a while.The service was great. Our waitress checked on us enough to make sure we had what we needed but didn't hover around us so that added to the enjoyment of the evening.As to the food, first I loved the coffee! Even after 9:30p the coffee tasted fresh! I know each person has their own taste in coffee, but to me this was Good!I ordered a standard Southern breakfast. Over easy eggs, sausage, biscuits and sausage gravy. I first must point out that each of two biscuits was at least 1 1/2 inches tall. For most places just one of these biscuits would be equaql to what they serve. On top of that, the biscuits just tasted great. I remembered to take a photo half way through the meal so you can see how much food was servedAll in all, a good meal and I will remember to go in late next time I go in to eat.

This food was good! I enjoyed the German pancake and the bacon was cooked perfectly as well as my over medium eggs. However the coffee is gross, taste like hot water.Food: 5/5

One star because the service, staff and atmosphere were all great! The food was very lack luster. Pancakes were dry and cool, eggs were not fresh cracked eggs (liquid eggs which I hate! , sausage patties looked like they were cooked yesterday and the fried potatoes &onions were from frozen and dry...not an onion in sight. Did I mention the service was fantastic? That is all...

Honestly a few hyped this place up. The food didn't impress me at all. I think it was the little details that impacted me most. Certainly things that could have been fresh were served in packages. The service was friendly we got in fairly quick for the size of the crowd. Ambiance was lacking but everything was clean. I edited this because my original post was too harsh and unfair. I will try again in the future and hopefully my experience will be better.
