What Barbara Crossley doesn't like about Le Café Gourmand:
Patrons are friendly. Menu is limited, not cheaper than the cafe at Chateau Chenonceau (we thought a local restaurant would be cheaper than the touristy locations), and our dishes were not good at all. The meat we (hamburger steak) had was charred almost beyond consumption. Nice staff, I've never eaten there even if I'm told it's very good, I'm just gonna get my cigarettes.

"The entire experience at Auberge du Bon Laboureur was sublime. The service was excellent and yet comfortable, not pretentious. We felt like we were being entertained in a private home. It was just so lovely, We took our aperitif in the bar, then moved to the dining room. There were several taster surprises from the chef. The menus was a perfect selection with an emphasis on locally sourced products. Every bite was perfection. I tried the chef’s signature dessert. It was made of parmasean cheese among other wonderful things and was served with a small lightly dressed arugula salad which perfectly balanced the tart yet rich dessert. I left the property determined to return for a longer stay and several nights in that’s restaraunt!"
