"Wir wollten im Lambrechterhof - bestes Haus am Platz - Mittagessen. dies war nicht möglich -mittags ist das Restaurant geschlossen! Also suchten wir ein anderes Restaurant. es hätte uns nichts Besseres passieren können, den wir landeten im Pizzeria Restaurant Marktcafe. Alles war wunderbar - Essen, Service, Ambiente und auch das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis. Nach unserem Besuch im Kloster St. Lambrecht (ein Reinfaller - alles war geschlossen außer der Kirche) - kamen wir zurück zum Café und hatten noch Cappuccino und Strudel - wieder ausgezeichnet."

"Die Auswahl ist nie leicht, aber zu unseren Top-Favoriten zählen die Trüffeltorte und die Schokomousse. Wir gönnen uns ab und an ein Stück Kiebitz-Kuchen, und es ist immer wieder ein Hochgenuss.Wenns zu Freunden und Familie geht packen wir oft einen Reindling mit ein (am Besten mit Schokostückchen statt Rosinen - lecker!!!!), und der begeistert immer alle."

"Dropped in here on the off chance there would be a table. Should not have worried as mid week and the place was fairly quiet. Was assisted with the menu and had a great dinner utilising local produce including a sheep cheese salad to start...and a a fish that must have been a close cousin of a Trout if not actually one. All accompanied by some good Austrian wine. Definitely be back next time in Althofen. Would recommend."

"We ate here mid afternoon during our holiday in Carinthia. It 's a charming place, nicely situated and near Hochhosterwitz castle. It looks to be beautifully renovated without being fussy and we found it very comfortable. The room we were in had a lovely exposed brick vaulted ceiling. The menu is written in dialect and this was a nice original touch. It seems that the owners have put a lot of thought into this restaurant and it 's well promoted and advertised with interesting promotional events. There are different special offers for every day of the week. We visited on 'steak ' day but we didn 't have the steak. The other days include backhendel on a Saturday and there 's a fish day. The food was good. We had meat patties with mash and gravy, and a meat and cheese platter. There was also a sweet noodle dish of what looked like Karnter nudels filled with a sweet nut filling and covered in melted butter. Prices were very reasonable and as I recall the main courses we had were around 10 euros each maximum. Everything about the place was good apart from the attitude of the staff. Our waitress was pleasant enough but there was a lot of bustling about preparing for the night, or the following day which was a bank holiday. We felt as though we were in the way. At one point, the restaurant manager and the waitress came up to our table and proceeded to adjust our tablecloth because it wasn 't straight. There 's Austrian efficiency and there 's a fussiness that is over the top. We were not bothered if the tablecloth was straight or not. We 'd rather have had a friendly conversation and a warmer welcome. That really was the only thing lacking at this lovely restaurant. That said, I would like to go back and give it another chance and would certainly recommend it for the food and the atmosphere."

"On the journey home from italia, on which search for a good gas house, it devoured us because of the good Google reviews in the sonnhof in st. veit an der glan. we all decided to carve or cordon bleu (salat was in each case.) top price/performance ratio! unfortunately there was no menu on the internet. we find something like that in person, because then you can taste what you have to eat."
