we appreciate good eating very well and we think we can judge that well. here in the restaurant tropengarten we had eaten a pettyness. sandwich, tropensalat, suppe and bananen chips. everything was incredibly beautiful presented and very tasty. the personal was attentive and friendly so we enjoyed it excellent and I cannot confirm the bad critikens of my predecessors. :-) View all feedback.

great ambiente to drink something after the visit. the personal is willing to give away at the service, but you notice that it must be laborious for them to work with beautiful weather because not many visitors come. View all feedback.
The Tropenhaus Frutigen in the Mountains! Nice place, fine food and very intresting for our kids! We will come back next summer!
We recently booked their tête-à-tête dinner for our wedding anniversary and let me tell you, they did not disappoint. You are lead to a private, candle-lit table by a welcoming host in the middle of a small, slightly humid jungle. And then the food starts to arrive. Each course showed off both the exceptional skill of the kitchen as well as the local produce (the fish and many of the herbs etc are cultivated on site.) The only remark I have, is that it was a bit too much of a good thing: the portions could have been made smaller, because by the time dessert came, we were both too full to enjoy it as thoroughly as the previous courses. Still, thank you for making our anniversary quite unforgettable.
We spent our holiday in Frutigen this summer, and had our 16' aniversary. We heard from realtives who live in the village, that Oona was an excellent restaurant. So we went there. The restaurant has a special atmosphere becouse it is placed in a tropic house, and we went past tropic plants on the way in. There were not many customers this evening, the atmosphere was sophisticated and peaceful, stylish and simple. Our hostess was nice and agreeable. She recommended an apertif which was fruity and fresh. We did't order a starter, but we got one anyway! With the starter they also gave us a taste of their speciality, their own caviar, made there in the building. Lovely. My husband had duck and risotto, and I, beeing a vegetarian, ate a disch with cheese and vegetables. I think we both had one of our best meals. For dessert we had chocolate with champagne and strawberry saus. If you are in Frutigen or in Adelboden or anywhere nere, go to Oona!
Nice and stylish restaurant. Very nice waiter. Excellent service throughout the meal. A chef that never should do anything other than being a chef. The best meal we ever had, me and my wife. Rich and various tastes. A perfect evening. You will not regret a visit here, you will get back, as we will.
The Tropenhaus is an unique establishment in the Swiss Alps. They develop sturgeons and every part of the fish is used. The tour around the fish, water and the impressive tropical garden is vety interesting and well set up.Restaurant Oona offers a large variety of food and of course the caviar and sturgeon have the central place on the menu. We took lunch and each of our party of 3, tried a different prepared sturgeon, of course preceded by a small apetizer with caviar. It was in one word Delicious!Since our daughter studies for chef, we had a long talk and restaurant- and kitchen tour with the chef of the kitchen. All in all, this was a great experience!
