"There aren't a lot of good restaurants in this part of Charentes. In fact, there aren't a heck of a lot of restaurants period. Which could be explained by the fact we were the sole customers at this humble eatery the night we went. Nothing spectacular, but a very warm welcome from the proprietor, who showed us an antique cookbook from his collection. Good "country salad" for starters, then delicious duck, a three-dessert assortment to finish off, plus a bottle of st estephe, all for around 60 euros. An honest meal at an honest price!"

"Unpolitically rejected dinner 10 or 15 minutes before 9 a.m. because the kitchen was already closed (although the place was still very active with dishes coming from the kitchen). We asked where else we could eat something nearby and the answer was dry... I don't know. Take your conclusions..."
