eating was well prepared and fresh, although not excellent. the service was very good and attentive to a clam allergy in the group. the nice tempoura and the cough role were my two favorites. the desserts were also quite good and I would recommend the yuzu meringue tart that is something out of the box. Four of us dined this past weekend, and the food was good, but not great considering the price. One of us ordered the steak and added shrimp, and the shrimp were overcooked. Steak and vegetables were ok. Not bad, but not terrific. Service was mediocre. The server had too many people to wait on at one time. As usual, excellent service and wonderful food. my man and I like to sit in the sushi bar where we like to prepare the chefs. johnny, the chef who worked this time right in front of us, was very helpful in choosing various items to try. all his recommendations were delicious. sakura is one of our favorite places to eat in girdwood.
Shows the best sushi place throughout the state alaska! this is the only sushi place I found, the fresh alaskan lachs served a lot of species.) the chefs are wonderful and sitting on the bar is always pleasant. Gray staff, nice setting, lively eating thank you.
