"Der Aufstieg ist besonders bei schmelzendem Schnee etwas anstrengend - aber man wird mit einer wunderschönen Aussicht und gutem Essen (die besten Kärntner Kasnudeln, die ich je irgendwo gegessen habe!) belohnt. "We have eaten at Bärenwirt three times now and every time has been exceptional. You can choose between traditional Austrian specialities or the chef's own more modern creations. Everything is freshly prepared from scratch with mostly local ingredients and a huge amount of effort is...put into the food and many components (oxymel, distilled medlar juice etc. you would never find anywhere else. The service is friendly and knowledgable and all this for 34 euros for three courses! The owners have also recently renovated an old house on the opposite side of the square to the restaurant which has beautiful rooms to rent and a delicatessen and cookery school on the ground floor."

"This hotel should be given 5stars, we had lovely room with a balcony. The parking is right in front of hotel, restaurant in the house and pub in front yard. This is marvelous we loved the food, fresh made desert made our evening. We would love to book again each summer, best place for bicycle tours. The most important is try the cheese dumplings and vanilla pudding. The hotel is a family run hotel and happens to be almost 100 years in there possession. The price is right for hotel room. Thank you for lovely hospitality"

"We were on the way to the emberger alm during the semester breaks. it was already 15.00, so by lunchtime.Well, we ordered gordon bleu, hirschgulasch and schweinsfilets. I was good. when cutting the gordon, the whole cheese run out, very bad. Moreover, a very spicy ham was used, which dominated the whole carving.My pork fillets, which I expressly ordered medium, were unfortunately completely fried and the bit sauce could not save the dry meat. They were served with band noodles, which unfortunately did not see any sauce. the sweet was too long cooked and therefore very soft. Well, then it stopped. the waitress has already looked a little skeptical on my teller, but for safety reasons it has disappeared quickly and without asking. 17,50 and I went hungry, as it came, out again."
