This may be the most authentic Italian-American restaurant I've ever been to. We ended up there because my wife suggested Olive Garden and I replied that surely we can find better Italian if she was in the mood for it, and we did. It's getting harder to find non-chain family-owned restaurants when traveling, and this one is a gem. View all feedback.
What Tommy Hepner doesn't like about Salvatore's Italian Pizza:
I was excited to go have some good Italian food based on the reviews, however what I experienced was marginal at best. I expected the “red sauce” to be other than what i experienced. Usually when I travel east of the Mississippi I run into very good Italian food. Wine choices are not good. Maybe the pizza is good. Going to try a different Italian restaurant when I return. Food was very good. Service was excellent and special treatment for our desserts. Will return.
