Nice terrace, standard beers, cocktails and rum at a correct price, lounge atmosphere with snooker. Not much potential, service OK

"Granville on a Thursday evening should have many places to eat. Unfortunately for some reason most were shut. Luckily we were staying in the Mercure hotel which is quite close so we wandered in. The decor is very ‘on trend’ which is a plus. The...Bourgogne wine was excellent and reasonably priced. The very small team of two did well keeping everyone in the restaurant served with a few slip ups, for example bringing us a different wine from the one we ordered and opening it. A bit more training needed perhaps? The food was at best average and for any Brits reading this probably not as good as most pubs these days who show an interest in food Anyway despite my comments we had an enjoyable evening. A little more training and less deep fried food, not apparent from the menu would help. Good location though."

"It was 6pm on a Saturday in Granville and we hadn't booked a dinner table. Before we arrived in town we hadn't appreciated that it was boat show weekend in Granville and the place was rammed with visitors from all over France. Having seen this place's great Tripadvisor reviews, I wandered in off the street at 6.15pm to find they were fully booked. But they nevertheless offered us an early table at 7.15pm, to be finished by 9pm, which suited us fine and was very much appreciated by a hungry family of four. The location is unpromising - behind a large public parking area opposite the industrial fish shed on the port - and the restaurant looks small and not particularly special. The interior is fairly dark and subdued, but has been stylishly refurbished. We found the the welcome, the service and the food well beyond expectations. The set menu consisted of about five choices for each course. We all opted to take all three courses for €32. Most of the courses are seafood-based, as you'd hope and expect. Our starters were excellent - two crab and two smoked bass - and the main courses equally good. We both had grilled turbot, perfectly cooked, while our kids (10 and 12) had steaks which were of very high quality. We shared four different superb desserts. The wine list was quite small but with a decent range. We had the chef's recommended St Romain at €34 which worked really well with the fish dishes. The service was attentive and friendly throughout, and our kids felt very welcome. One point to note - an earlier review mentions a kid's menu. In fact the only menu available to us was the standard set menu. This worked fine for us, but if your kids are still building their sense of culinary adventure, it might not be the ideal place for you! We really enjoyed this place and we'll definitely be back."

"We sail down to Granville quite frequently and noticed this restaurant when it first opened a couple of years ago. The menu looked interesting and we kept promising ourselves a visit, but as happens we never got around to it until this week, which is...a shame as now we know what we have been missing. If you are looking for moules frites or pizza, then best look elsewhere, but if you are seeking good food beautifully cooked and presented, then you will not be disappointed. The menu is quite small, but this ensures everything is freshly cooked. We started with foie gras, served with smoked duck which was inter leaved with the foie gras. I then had the lotte (monkfish) served with a moules sauce and my wife had the carre de veau, this was followed with an apricot sorbet, which description does not do it justice, of course in addition you also had something with your aperitif plus an amuseé and petit fours with the coffee. The wine list was relatively small, but prices were reasonable, we chose a red Languedoc Rousillion, which was exceptional. In addition to the main menu, there was a luncheon menu offering 2,3 or 4 courses. Service was friendly and efficient and we look forward to our next sailing trip when we shall be paying another visit. I would suggest making a reservation, as although we went on a Wednesday lunch time, only one table remained empty."
