"Good old Greg did not disappoint. I tried all top Frozen Custard shops in MI, IL, WI and MO. Now, good news is Greg is selling real frozen custard. Many shops sell soft serve or frozen yogurt under the name of frozen custard. There are three tests to agood frozen custard. Test 1. The machinery. If you are getting your custard from a device like a beverage fountain where theyhold the cup underneath and fill. You are not getting frozen custard my friends! Test 2. The spoon. If the frozen custard isserved with filmsy a soft spoon that easily bends, that is not a custard you are spooning. Test 3. The texture! The mostimportant test. Now spoon your custard and look into your cup, if the spot you just scooped has sandy looks then that is a lowquality custard. If that scooped area is silky smooth and flat as the surface of a quartz countertop then this is good news!these guys are using some egg yolks in their recipee to make real frozen custard. Greg's custard passed all three tests. It isdefinitely not as good as Kopp's Frozen Custard in WI but so far the best in IL that I found. Good job Greg."

"A downtown Grayslake gem. The atmosphere is EXACTLY what you'd want in a neighborhood coffee shop, with both indoor and outdoor seating options, right on the main street of downtown Grayslake. The coffee is always solid, they always have the usual staplesplus they rotate an interesting flavored variety if that's your thing. But the real treat is the baked goods absolutelyphenomenal variety of really yummy muffins, cakes, cookies, scones, etc. So good! I've also had breakfast here a few times andthe food is always great to go along with friendly service. Support small, local businesses and think of Somethings Brewingnext time you get that Starbucks craving you won't be disappointed!"

"I purchased a Harvest Spice Muffin which happens to be my favorite. The muffin was very dry and actually tasted stale. I was dissapointed and I couldn't even eat the muffin and I had to throw it away. The price of the muffin was over 5.00."

"Fred was rocky. It is a bit dated in decor and they only accept cash, but that means I had the steak and eggs for $10.50 and it was so solid it was as if they were the price of when it was opened first. I can't imagine it's doing this breakfast somewhere for any place near this price."

"Had lunch there today, not only was the food good and hot, the service was superb! Olivia P went above and beyond! So friendly, checked to see if we needed anything multiple times. "Giving it a full 5 stars. Solid food for a very fair price. They have multiple meals for under $10 and their beer is reasonably priced (for dining out/a bar). Friendly and responsive staff. Do not come here if you are allergic to nuts!"
