"Loved this island BBQ joint. Great no frills BBQ. Delicious flavor on all the items that we had. The chicken and ribs were tender and tasty. The definite star of the meal was the loaded fries! So awesome! Loaded with cheese, cilantro sauce, pico de gallo, and chicken (you choose the meat). I?d go back just for those! The employees were great too. Explained the menu and choices, and made suggestions."

"The ambience at Bar Acura is great. The servers were very attentive and polite, they even helped us to our table a little earlier than we had booked. The wine list is also good, and they prepared some really good mocktails with local lilikoi. The food itself is average. We had tomato on bruschetta which was not a traditional pan con tomate, but more a tomato in balsamic sauce for you to dip bread into. It was too acidic. We also had the clams, which were tasty enough, but the portion size was too small. The Hawaiian fish was excellent cooked very nicely indeed, but unfortunately the pineapple purée was grainy and did not work in terms of flavour. The best part of the meal was the dessert. We had tangerine sorbet and cheesecake, which were excellent. This was definitely the highlight of the email. Overall we felt that the food here was acceptable but very much overpriced. All in our bill was $200 for two of us. Food in Kauai is generally expensive so this is not an outrageous amount, but frankly we left a little hungry and underwhelmed by the flavours. When we asked for more bread, they were very stingy and brought two slices of baguette. For this price, we would expect a bread basket to be regularly replenished. This is a tapas restaurant, and the portions should rightly be small. However at these prices, they are too small and not particularly incredible."

"A beautiful restaurant with an amazing view . The brussel sprouts and papaya salad were nice starters. The cocktails were very good. The green curry veggie ramen with spicy miso and ono add-on were spectacular. The broth was amazing. Wife enjoyed chicken donburi. Peanut butter coconut pie to finish was also very good. Service was spotty as the waitress was often nowhere to be found. Drinks from the bar did come out very quickly."

"Messed up order. Put wrong flavor in. The girl preparing the shave ice was flirting with her boyfriend and not paying attention. Zero coconut, zero ube. We paid for three flavors $1.50 extra per flavor). She got mad when we pointed out the order was wrong. Fixed it by scraping off blueberry and putting a drop each of the other flavors. Didn 't add more shave ice. Ended up being even smaller than the kids size and cost $6 more. There are other shave ice options around."

"This was my one of favorite food experiences on Kauai! The salad was very fresh and yummy and the burger with avocado and fries was absolutely scrumptious. And you can't go wrong with a passion fruit soda."

"Website and online info is outdated. Food is very good! Very expensive- $25 for 2 tacos but they are quite good. Look at the recent menu pics I uploaded here. Be patient with them- they’re revamping the menu, giving the place a facelift, and they’re all really nice! Phone does not work. It’s very nice to have a restaurant option out here. Hours are correct. Cocktails are good. Would give it 5 stars if prices were more in line with Hanalei. Pleasant, mellow, and probably no wait for a table. Check it out."
