"The pictures definitely do not do justice to this place. We are a couple with huge appetite and found Chicken for Two to be sufficient for us. Chicken was really smokey, juicy and flavourful. The chili was really good too.."

"Chicken In A Barrel was a terrific find. Prices aren’t cheap but it was good. Where to start.. clearly the quarter chicken was the best. It was piping hot, moist, and delicious. You eat here for the chicken! No question. At first I thought the baby back ribs were dry and too lean but then realized it was just the first piece. The rest of it was juicy and had some fat. And their homemade baked beans with bits of meat was awesome. We had one more dish: the pulled pork was juicy and fresh. Both plate lunches came with the beans and dirty rice. There are five picnic tables in the shade. And the owner and worker were really nice to chat with. One last pro tip: the BBQ sauce is incredible! Both the regular and spicy. I may come back again later this trip!"

"To be honest, this is the gourmet food on a diner teller menu. yes, they eat with plastic utensils and their food is in a box, but close their eyes and they would swear that they have eaten in a five-star resort (minus the five-star resort prices). our meals were about $10 each. I had a number one with serviettes, and my wife had a number one with kalau (powder). our friends had heard the chickens, all loved their choice. the only side is that everything is taken out so that they have to eat somewhere. we ate in some picnic tables near, but they were not part of the Pono market. we have not come to the good. would I recommend that they go to this place? well, I would recommend that they rush to this place if they find themselves close. excellent food, friendly service, great selection of food."

"Great breakfast. My husband and I went to breakfast last week. I have two pancakes that were the size of a plate (a coconut and a mama) both good. My husband has a 2-egg breakfast with frecnh toast and half a papaya. Everything was properly cooked and tasteful. A definate recommend."

"One of the better traditional shave ice places (meaning ones that use artificially flavored syrups instead of the newer places which use fresh fruit juices/pulp). The ice is good, syrups aren 't overly sweet."

"Great food and service! I took my family here on a whim because my grandma wanted a fish sandwich for lunch. We waited half an hour and it was well worth it. Our waitress was delightfully conversational, and even appeared to be proud of the food. The fish and veggies taste fresh, and the fries are the crispy breaded kind. We later came to find out that our waitress is the daughter of the owner. Well, this is a great family establishment that we are looking forward to coming back to!"
