My first pub experience in England. Stopped here on a cold and windy afternoon for a quick drink with family. We loved the charming historic decor, lovely bar and interesting beer choices, and a kind lady bartender. The only disappointment was the fact, that no...hot alcoholic drinks such as mulled wine or a hot toddy were available to warm us up. Parking is a challenge as well as walking up the hill. sat with a group of workmates and found it a mixed experience. the pub itself is great with an excellent selection of well kept beers and guarantees 4.* that eating was not so good and earned 2.* people near me had the fun. starter they found well. but my chicken liver parfait less well a cold plate of pate without much taste or texture.
