"We have been going to J. Gilbert's for many years to celebrate our anniversary. It has become an annual ritual. We chose J. Gilbert (there are many other very fine local restaurants) because they are tops in all they do. It is always delightful to be coddled with fine service and to enjoy the well presented excellent fare. Thank you J. Gilbert staff for another great dining experience"

"Everytime I went there (4x), there was alwa a long wait. There's usually 3 people there. A guy in the back cooking other things, and a younger and older lady up front, whom I believe owns the place. I really only want the chicken, but was told that I have to order fries with it. I'm not even supposed to eat fries, but I eat a few to feel like I'm not wasting my money. And they're shoestring fries which but hard. I wished they used the regular fries or wedges. I wasn't allowed to select the parts of chicken I want either. Chicken is already cooked and fries constantly made. Why do I have to wait almost 20 minutes each time? The younger lady won't serve me until the older lady finishes cooking the chicken she's in progress of. The older one has to be the one to cash me out. Why!? The younger lady could cash me out and give me my order, so could be out. As far as the taste of the food the chicken is fresh, but could use seasoning. At least salt and pepper. A little bland to me. The fries are fresh, but usually hard to me. I always hated shoestring fries though. $12 for 3 or 4 pieces of chicken and fries. Service is slow as I said already. The atmosphere is somewhat cozy though."

"If you get the right menu items, like the actual Halal menu, it is really good. The service is generally not fast but they often have a large orders so it takes a while to make all them. Chicken Shwarma Combo. Baba Ganoush. Good french fries. You’re not getting that in a whole lot of places at midnight."

"Healthy and satisfying food for the part-time vegetarian. Being in downtown was challenging to find the right food to eat on a strict diet, but I found an ally in Dhaba Wala Indian Kitchen. I chose the Aloo Gobi Entree and asked for a little or no salt, which was the perfect comfort food I needed after a stressful morning. The staff was polite, knowledgeable and welcomed my needs as a new customer."
