Excellent restaurant! The burgers were great, the halibut was delicious and the shells were excellent. Also the beer was delicious and refreshing (I recommend the local Frydenlund Juicy IPA, light and very beautiful). The service was excellent and the waitresses were very sweet. The views of the water and the interior of the restaurant were very beautiful. Would return to another trip to Norway! read more.

It’s common practice to inform the guests on arrival if courses on the menu are unavailable. Not so at Brakstad. After having studied the menu for a while we decided on shank of lamb, but were told it had not been in stock that day. The knowledge of available wines was also objectable. read more.

Terrible service, from a rude waiter who would not reply to our request to see if there was a different table in the front, or by the bar, rather than a gloomy...

"So last weekend my husband and I had a great surprise while on our visit to my sons Fotball match. This little trailer selling cupcakes.... being Americans I was skeptical but I love cupcakes and consider myself an expert when it come to judging flavors. Cupcakes may to some seem easy to bake, but they are not and it’s very hard to find a cupcake that’s truly great. Let me say we bought four different flavors and each one was WOW. Red velvet is next to impossible for most bakers to get right..the flavor is alway off. The Red Velvet cupcake I had the pleasure of tasting was absolutely fantastic my senses overjoyed by the aroma and the flavors it left in my mouth. I also had a banana, chocolate and a snickers all where such a pleasant surprise from the flavor, consistency and over all look not to mention the frosting was just superb and a perfect match to each cupcake and not too sweet which is often the first mistake made in making a frosting. The frosting was a A . Please if you get the chance you will not be disappointed these cupcakes are such a pleasure. Thank you Jåblom Bakst AS. for sharing your gift of making these great Cupcakes!!!!"
