the best tasting fish and chips that I had for decades, what a jewel to find this fish and chip shop, we travel from uttoxeter about an hour away, once or twice in the month to enjoy them. Don't miss the call soon. View all feedback.
What Pesha123 doesn't like about The Coach House:
We visited today, whilst on holiday so not familiar with buxton. The chip shop looked appealing, and they have table service or takeaway. We opted to eat in and the meal deal was pointed out to us. A fish, chip, peas, bread and hot or cold drink for £10.50 each. Not bad, until you get your calculator out and work out that it's cheaper to buy everything separately! depending which drink you opt for, it's about 50-75p ch... View all feedback.
The Coach House has always been and always will be the best Fish Chip Shop in Buxton. The staff are all very well trained, and professional. There is lots to choose from and gluten free options. The ingredients are the best, and this is reflected in the price.
Absolutely appalling. Only take cash . Very expensive and soggy batter on the fish will not return very poor
Good fish and chips not sure if 10.95.for the special is good value or not but we didn't mm ind paying it. Fast service.
Popped in for a quick lunch as I was starving. Saw the ridiculous prices so just had the chips and gravy on a small tray. £3.75. For a handful of chips and bit of gravy. That's the worst bit. When I tried to eat them I the chips were too stale to even put my teeth through them. They must've been sat there for hours to be that tough. Easily the worst chips I have ever had. Attempted to eat a few as I was so hungry but gave up and threw them. £3.75 for small pile of stale chewy chips. Utter garbage. Avoid at all costs.
Staff obviously don't listen.. came in for battered sausage, mushy peas and curry sauce, came home to find no curry sauce... But gravy!! I was so looking forward to this treat!! I wouldn't mind but the shop was empty, so they can't say they were rushed off their feet! It hadn't been too far I would of taken them back, instead I binned the gravy and made do!!
